What is Medium Term Accommodation (MTA)?

Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) is a flexible housing option funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It serves as a crucial bridging solution for NDIS participants who require temporary housing while waiting for a more permanent living arrangement. 

Key features of MTA include: 

  • MTA is funded for up to 90 days. Extensions may be possible in some circumstances, subject to NDIS approval. 
  • Fully accessible and tailored living environments 
  • Support for independent living skills development 
  • NDIS-funded accommodation and support services 

Who is MTA for?

MTA is designed to support NDIS participants who: 

  • Are transitioning out of hospital or rehabilitation facilities 
  • Are waiting for home modifications to be completed 
  • Need time to find or wait for suitable long-term housing 
  • Are developing independent living skills before moving to more permanent accommodation
